Praise and Prayer for 12/21

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. - Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV 1984)

There is no prayer meeting at church for the rest of 2016 but we join for a time of prayer every Wednesday night from 8-9pm.

Prayer highlights:
  • Praise God for a signed buyout agreement with our Landlord to terminate our lease early. Continue to be in prayer for a successful loan application and for agreeable terms with TVCBC towards closing of the Pleasanton building.
  • Praise God for making it possible for us to move most everything but the contents in the sanctuary and food prep area this past weekend. Thank God for all the volunteers that helped out and that everyone was kept safe and without injury.
  • Pray for joyful hearts as we worship and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior this coming Christmas Sunday.
Ministry prayer requests:
  • Young Children:
    • that our kids (nursery, preschool-aged and special needs) will experience God's great love for them; that our kids will feel loved, nurtured, and safe while in our care
    • that our teachers will remain passionate in teaching and continue to build relationships with the kids and their families
    • pray for Peggy to be able to balance time as the lead coordinator and her involvement with other ministries; pray that God will provide her wisdom to lead this ministry
  • G-Force:
    • for 4 additional teachers and 8 high school assistants who love God and PCC kids
    • for renewed energy and passion for the wonderful teachers we already have; protection from burnout
    • God's wisdom for Brandy to be able to discern what God wants for G-Force and how best to demonstrate the love God has for our children
  • Youth:
    • that our students will own their own faith, not just inherited faith; that God and His love would be real and life changing
    • that all of our youth open up to each other and for our community to grow (in numbers, in faith, and in bridging age gaps from middle school, to high school, and into college)
    • that our students continue to shine the light and love of God on their campuses and at PCC; that they be leaders of faith to everyone
  • Life Groups:
    • to be a ministry that brings honor and glory to God that is used to build meaningful relationships with one another and with Jesus Christ
    • for God to encourage, strengthen, and build-up our Life Group leaders; for their spiritual growth and protection
    • for God to transform the life of each Life Group participant through a spirit of grace, acceptance, and welcoming between each member
  • Finance:
    • for continued growth of the church and support from all worshippers to make PCC financially sound
    • for help from the landlord with our rental expenses, whether here or at our next location
    • for getting other interested parties to rent and make better use of our space
  • Welcome/Greeting/Follow-up:
    • for additional people who are passionate in welcoming newcomers each Sunday and are willing to help with follow-up
    • for newcomers to Pathway to feel welcomed and interested in connecting with Pathway and its life groups and ministries
    • for greeters to connect and be an encouragement to everyone that attends Pathway; most importantly, to share God's love
  • Leadership:
    • to maintain a vital and intimate relationship with God in our individual lives
    • to be sensitive and responsive to the needs of our church body as shepherds
    • to be faithful and open to God's leading to deal with the church's financial situation, ministries impacting our community, and a future meeting place after our current lease expires
Additional prayer requests:
  • Pray for open and humble hearts as we build Christian mentoring relationships at Pathway this year. Prayerfully consider how God would use you to be a mentor and/or be mentored.
  • Pray for God's wisdom and leading as we minister in the Dublin and surrounding community. Thank God for the opportunity to partner with Open Heart Kitchen to help serve meals to those in need in our community and for our Food Ministry to distribute food to Wexford Way and Camille Place, and continue to be in prayer for these ministries. May God's love and hope be experienced in our community.

Please incorporate the following in your prayer:
  • Praise Him for specific evidences of His glory, power, wisdom, grace, mercy, faithfulness, love, or other attributes in our lives this week.
  • Give thanks with grateful and joyful hearts for specific blessings we have received this week.
  • Come before Him with humble hearts and pray for our lives to align with His purposes.
  • Pray for Pathway's leadership to seek Him first in all decision making, to lead by example, to be passionate and committed to growing our congregation as followers of Christ, and to receive encouragement from God and our congregation.
  • Pray for commitment to God's vision and mission for Pathway and our responsibility as part of the body to fulfill the mission.
