Praise and Prayer for 8/27

Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. - Psalm 105:1-4 (NIV 1984)

There is no prayer meeting at church this week but we join for a time of prayer every Wednesday night from 8-9pm. Starting in September our prayer meeting at church will switch from every other Wednesday to every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Our next prayer meeting at church is on September 3rd.

Answered prayers:
  • Praise God for willing hearts to serve in our children's ministry and raising additional volunteers and teachers. Continue to pray for our children's ministry leaders, teachers and volunteers as they continually look for ways to make learning about God exciting and life impacting for the kids.
New prayer requests:
  • Pray for the upcoming Dodgeball Tournament Fundraiser on October 18 to help with the AIDS/HIV pandemic in Africa.  Pray for the logistics, planning, volunteers, and great participation, for a fun time and to raise awareness and funds for Africa.

Active prayer requests:
  • Continue to pray for Derrick and Kara in Zimbabwe this week and to gain vision for Pathway's involvement in the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
  • Pray for God's wisdom and deliverance as the ELT continues to look into the church finances.
  • Praise God for using classes to help us grow in our spiritual walk with Christ. The women continue to meet on Sunday morning for the rest of the summer to study the book of James. Pray for our congregation to commit to spending time with God and His word, to listen intently to His voice and to obey when He calls us to apply what we learn.
  • Pray for our Small Groups transitioning to Life Groups and the focus to experiencing life together. Pray for development of leaders and for groups to desire to reach out to help others connect with a group. Pray for Pastor Matt as he leads this important ministry with the aim of helping our congregation to grow in Christ and to be mission focused.
  • Pray for God's wisdom and leading as we minister in the Dublin and surrounding community. Thank God for the opportunity to partner with Open Heart Kitchen to help serve meals to those in need in our community and continue to be in prayer for this ministry. Be in prayer for the East Bay Stand Down in September to serve our veterans. As we prepare for the annual Family Fall Festival please pray for the preparation, volunteers and for those that God will lead through our doors. May God's love and hope be experienced through all these ministries.

Please incorporate the following in your prayer:
  • Praise Him for specific evidences of His glory, power, wisdom, grace, mercy, faithfulness, love, or other attributes in our lives this week
  • Give thanks with grateful and joyful hearts for specific blessings we have received this week
  • Come before Him with humble hearts and pray for our lives to align with His purposes
  • Pray for Pathway's leadership to seek Him first in all decision making, to lead by example, to be passionate and committed to growing our congregation as followers of Christ, and to receive encouragement from God and our congregation
  • Pray for commitment to God's vision and mission for Pathway and our responsibility as part of the body to fulfill the mission
