Praise and Prayer for 5/6

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV 1984)

This Wednesday 5/6 we have a prayer meeting in the church conference room that starts at 7:30pm. If you cannot join us at church, please gather with friends and family wherever you are to be in prayer for the church. Our Pathway family is united in prayer every Wednesday from 8-9pm.

Answered prayers: 

• Praise God for leading us in the process of selecting the next Lead Pastor for Pathway. Praise God for calling Pastor Ken and his family to join Pathway as we serve together for God's kingdom and glory. Pray for wisdom during this transition period and lift up Pastor Brian and Gina before the Lord for the many faithful years of service and leading at Pathway and for the amazing blessing they have been to the Pathway body.

New prayer requests:

• Be in prayer for the national day of prayer tomorrow, Thursday May 7th. The theme for 2015 is "Lord, Hear Our Cry", and the verse is from 1 Kings 8:28: "Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day."
• Pray for the upcoming classes on May 16 to learn about the fundamentals of the Christian faith and to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith. While it is not about the knowledge of God, in order for us to know God we must know about God. Pray for the hunger of God's people for His word and the Spirit's illumination so that we can know, please and serve Him with passion as we share His love with others.

Active prayer requests:

• Pray for continued progress in working toward possible solutions to our rental situation and finding favor with Sleepy Hollow and its investors. Pray that we will follow God's leading and represent Him well.
• Pray for wisdom and insight as the church leadership looks into ministry growth.
• Pray for God's wisdom and deliverance as the ELT continues to look into the church finances.
• Pray for our Life Groups and the focus to experiencing life together. Pray for development of leaders and for groups to desire to reach out to help others connect with a group. Pray for Pastor Matt as he leads this important ministry with the aim of helping our congregation to grow in Christ and to be mission focused.
• Pray for God's wisdom and leading as we minister in the Dublin and surrounding community. Thank God for the opportunity to partner with Open Heart Kitchen to help serve meals to those in need in our community and continue to be in prayer for this ministry. May God's love and hope be experienced in our community.

• Praise Him for specific evidences of His glory, power, wisdom, grace, mercy, faithfulness, love, or other attributes in our lives this week
• Give thanks with grateful and joyful hearts for specific blessings we have received this week
• Come before Him with humble hearts and pray for our lives to align with His purposes
• Pray for Pathway's leadership to seek Him first in all decision making, to lead by example, to be passionate and committed to growing our congregation as followers of Christ, and to receive encouragement from God and our congregation
• Pray for commitment to God's vision and mission for Pathway and our responsibility as part of the body to fulfill the mission
