Praise and Prayer for 3/23

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." - John 17:1-5 (NIV 1984)

There is no prayer meeting at church this week but we join for a time of prayer every Wednesday night from 8-9pm.

Answered prayers:

• Praise God for all we have learned and experienced as we completed the series on Renewing the City. Thank God for a Spirit-filled sharing service this past Sunday, and the encouragement and challenges shared by our congregation. Pray for deepening friendships, sharing of our faith, and being generous as we serve others for God's glory.
• Thank God for Pastor Tim and Yumi and their faithful service for God, for allowing Pastor Tim to enjoy a two month sabbatical and to be refreshed by God and to spend quality time with family and friends. Praise God for the many volunteers that stepped in to faithfully fill in for Pastor Tim's roles as our youth and worship pastor, and the many additional admin functions he has taken on. Pray that some of our volunteers may be led to continue to serve in the various admin functions, to allow Pastor Tim to focus on his pastoral roles. 

New prayer requests:

• Pray for the Good Friday and Easter services, that God be glorified and magnified, that He will touch hearts and transform lives for His kingdom and glory. Pray for God to use those that are being baptized to bear testimony for Him and encourage the congregation. Pray for God to lead many to Pathway and for Him to enable us to reflect Christ and His love.

Active prayer requests: 

• Pray for open and humble hearts as we build Christian mentoring relationships at Pathway this year. Prayerfully consider how God would use you to be a mentor and/or be mentored. 
• Pray for God's wisdom and deliverance as the ELT continues to look into improving church finances. Pray for progress in working toward possible solutions to our rental situation. Pray  that we will follow God's leading and represent Him well.
• Pray for our Life Groups and the focus to experiencing life together. Pray for development of leaders and for groups to desire to reach out to help others connect with a group.
• Pray for God's wisdom and leading as we minister in the Dublin and surrounding community. Thank God for the opportunity to partner with Open Heart Kitchen to help serve meals to those in need in our community and for our Food Ministry to distribute food to Wexford Way and Camille Place, and continue to be in prayer for these ministries. May God's love and hope be experienced in our community.

Please incorporate the following in your prayer: 

• Praise Him for specific evidences of His glory, power, wisdom, grace, mercy, faithfulness, love, or other attributes in our lives this week.
• Give thanks with grateful and joyful hearts for specific blessings we have received this week.
• Come before Him with humble hearts and pray for our lives to align with His purposes.
• Pray for Pathway's leadership to seek Him first in all decision making, to lead by example, to be passionate and committed to growing our congregation as followers of Christ, and to receive encouragement from God and our congregation.
• Pray for commitment to God's vision and mission for Pathway and our responsibility as part of the body to fulfill the mission.
