Praise and Prayer for 8/6

"I will not enter my house or go to my bed - I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." - Psalm 132:3-5 (NIV 1984)

This Wednesday 8/6 we have a prayer meeting in the church conference room that starts at 7:30pm. If you cannot join us at church, please gather with friends and family wherever you are to be in prayer for the church. Our Pathway family is united in prayer every Wednesday from 8pm-9pm. Please incorporate the following in your prayer:
  • Praise Him for specific evidences of His glory, power, wisdom, grace, mercy, faithfulness, love, or other attributes in our lives this week
  • Give thanks with grateful and joyful hearts for specific blessings we have received this week
  • Come before Him with humble hearts and pray for our lives to align with His purposes
  • Pray for Pathway's leadership to seek Him first in all decision making, to lead by example, to be passionate and committed to growing our congregation as followers of Christ, and to receive encouragement from God and our congregation
  • Pray for commitment to God's vision and mission for Pathway and our responsibility as part of the body to fulfill the mission
Following are specific praises and (answered) prayers for this week:

  • Praise God for the safe journey of our SD Mission team and for the incredible way that He worked in and through each member of the team. It was a great blessing to hear the testimonies of changed lives and we look forward to how God is going to continue to use us to minister in our local communities. Please visit pccmissions.tumbler.com for details of the trip.
  • Pray for Derrick and Kara as they head to Zimbabwe, Africa, to gain vision for Pathway's involvement in the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The trip is on August 25-31. The youth have contributed their current funds to help Journey finish the school in Limpopo.
  • Please continue to be in prayer for the retreat and for the strengthening of bonds, and time with God.
Following are continued prayer requests from previous weeks:

  • Pray for God's wisdom and deliverance as the ELT continues to look into the church finances.
  • Praise God for using classes to help us grow in our spiritual walk with Christ. The women continue to meet on Sunday morning for the rest of the summer to study the book of James. Pray for our congregation to commit to spending time with God and His word, to listen intently to His voice and to obey when He calls us to apply what we learn.
  • Pray for our Small Groups transitioning to Life Groups and the focus to experiencing life together. Pray for development of leaders and for groups to desire to reach out to help others connect with a group. Pray for Pastor Matt as he leads this important ministry with the aim of helping our congregation to grow in Christ and to be mission focused.
  • Pray for God's wisdom and leading as we minister in the Dublin and surrounding community. Thank God for the opportunity to partner with Open Heart Kitchen to help serve meals to those in need in our community and continue to be in prayer for this ministry. Be in prayer for the East Bay Stand Down in September to serve our veterans. As we prepare for the annual Family Fall Festival please pray for the preparation, volunteers and for those that God will lead through our doors. May God's love and hope be experienced through all these ministries.
